This is a small Drawing Machine commissioned for Grant Guy’s Circus of Objects. The machine was constructed and assembled at Assentworks. The wood and plexiglass were cut using a Laser Cutter and the remaining parts were all 3D Printed.
The machine has a recording mechanism that allows hand guided movements to be recorded as a scribed shape on matte board. The shapes are then scanned and manufactured in acrylic using the laser cutter, and then loaded back into the machine to allow for reproduction of the ‘recorded’ movement.
